Maria and Xarco Check with Xarco now 1 year old. Xarco is out of Pam X Yuri
1 year old
3 months old
Review left by Maria Zlidar Richards If I could give Central Coast German Shepherds more than five stars, I would. The puppy we acquired from Julie is a few weeks away from turning a year old and he is everything we thought he would be and more. Julie’s dedication to the breed and her dogs is evident across every touchpoint, from her website to the multiple calls we had, our first zoom, and our first meeting where we met her and picked up our beautiful boy.
Echoing other reviews, he was crate trained, slept through the night and already knew sit/down when we got him at 13 weeks. We saw first hand that Julie raised him under foot - he was accustomed to sounds from the vacuum cleaner, dishwasher, was used to the car and played with other dogs in addition to his litter mates.
She breeds for the love of and devotion to the German Shepherd breed and ensures that there is a match between owner/ puppy and will be there for you after you take your puppy home for any questions you may have.
We are regularly complimented on our boy for his show stopping good looks, how well behaved he is, his balanced demeanor and great personality. His intelligence and desire to work/train are off the charts.
I recommend Central Coast German Shepherds without reservation and will be getting my next GSD from Julie. Central Coast German Shepherds
Willow and Jeff Check in. Willow is out of Pam X Yuri
Hello Julie, hope this note finds you well. Willow is doing great. Just finished our second obedience class and I am also doing some one-on-one. Here's a photo of Willow on her last day of class on Monday of this week. She's growing into a fine young lady! Jeff and Willow
Maria checks in with Xarco - Pam X Yuri puppy
We just got back from the vet. He tipped the scales at 37 lbs. I am amazed at how smart he is. His sense of smell is ridiculous...we were at puppy class last week and the trainer even remarked on it. He is teething, as expected and doing great with learning basic obedience. He continues to watch, please, belly rubs and water. Shortly after I took this photo he spilled his water so he can lay in it....baby pool is definitely in his future. While he is definitely all puppy and all the exuberance that comes with that, there is a depth to him that we are beginning to see. He is such an amazing dog and I can't thank you enough for all of the time, effort, energy and love with which you breed and raise your pups. Maria & Xarco
Tuxedo checked in from Santa Maria. We had our vet check today and my Vet said he is a very healthy puppy. Agrees with you on everything you had recommended. He has gained 3 lbs and is just a great dog. Loving him dearly. Thanks again. Peggy & Dan
Tulla checked in from San Diego. This was her first trip to the beach.
Lauren checks in with Troy in Ohio. What a gorgeous frozen waterfall in the background. We don't see things like this in California. Lauren and Troy are loving the snow!
Julie, My boy Vermillion 'King' Zygo. whelped Aug 4th, 2018 Weight 91.9 lbs High drive, friendly, gorgeous and extremely well-bred thanks to Central Coast German Shepherds. King was pick of his litter, I named him Vermillion for his unusually bright red coloring. Superior watchdog and companion animal.
Julie, I was thinking about you guys and wanted to send some family pictures we did with Anya. She is amazing and we could not imagine our life without her. We are so thankful that she is in our lives. She really fills our hearts every day. My family was in town for a week and they honestly could not believe how amazing she is. They always have great things to say about her and how she is with Ivan especially. If I know of anyone looking for a shepherd I will be sure to send them your way. Bretta
We took Lara to the highly recommended Vet in Lompoc, The Animal Care of H Street. She has a clean bill of health and stool sample came back clean! And her new family name is Nova. She has a sweetness about her. We love her and the kids are so happy with her. Thank you for the amazing gift of Lara! Adam Dimora
Hi Julie! I've been meaning to write you or call you for some time. I just want to let you know how much I appreciate you and how happy I am with my little Lady (aka Lacey). She was Lacey from Lipa's Litter but, I changed her name to lady because i fit her perfectly! She is the sweetest Shepherd that I have ever had. She is ridiculously smart....For example she figured out how to turn on the outdoor faucet by herself and had her own water party the other day! Her obedience training is about 80% so, she will be just perfect in another month or two on that level. I just wanted to thank you so much and I have recommended you to a lot of people down here. I hope you and your family are well. Regards, Sam
I have had the great pleasure of obtaining a female shepherd awhile back who I named Ruby! Ruby is beautiful, smart and very loyal. She was breed with great standards and she proves it every single day. I never had trained Ruby but yet she understands commands and acts accordingly. To whoever has the pleasure of obtaining a perfect Shepherd from Central Coast German Shepherd, you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
Just wanted to give you a quick update with a couple recent photos of Dante.
He is now 2 1/2 & is quite the handsome boy! He is about 100+/- lean pounds. He is a big, strong, athletic dog who is on the go! We are still taking him to obedience class where they do other activities also to keep it fun for the dogs. His favorite is still the tunnel, although he does most of the other obstacles with ease. The socialization has been great for him as he is learning to calm down around smaller dogs too.
When walking him different places people always stop to comment on his size, coloring & what a beautiful dog he is. Not sure if the photos do him justice, but he is very solid boned while still having incredible movement. He has a very nice temperament & loves kids!
Just thought I'd send a quick email to you with some updated photos of Dante. He is 10 months now & about 85-90 lean pounds! He is doing really well in dog class & his confidence is really starting to show. He is very athletic & absolutely loves the agility tunnel at class. He gets so excited when he sees the trainer put it out. Wherever we go people comment on his conformation, coloring, & say what a beautiful dog he is. Then when we tell them his age they usually comment on what a big boy he is going to be!! We just adore him & can't imagine our family without him. Thank you so much for raising such fantastic puppies!
The 2015 Northwest Regional Schutzhund trials were held in Hollister this weekend & we went & watched for a while on Saturday. It was very exciting to watch in person! Two of our friends from dog class also train with Deleta of K9 Ambassador where the event was held. She suggested we stop by & observe some of her higher level obedience classes, so we're planning on doing that a little later in September.
I'll send more photos in a couple of months & hopefully get some of him standing. He is very busy & on the move most of the time! Hope you & your family are well & had a good summer. Take care - Lisa
This is Yogi aka Bear. He is out of our JLO X ARNO Litter. Yogi is a long hair german shepherd
Mila lives in Santa Barbara. Mila is also one of our long hair puppies.
Hello Julie, Hope this email finds you and your family well. Just wanted to shoot over some new photos of Mila and reiterate what wonderful puppies you raise.
Mila has a gorgeous coat and color. She is a bit more red, and we absolutely love it. But more importantly, her demeanor and personality continue to bring us joy. She is confident and extremely observant, all while being so loving and in tune to what is happening in our family. And... For a 5.5 month old puppy, she is calm and has some maturity. And... As I may have mentioned before, so very smart. She potty trained within a week and we're now well into our training, which she loves. She has been fun to watch grow. We have a feeling she may be a bit bigger than we thought, already over 50 pounds. :) More than anything we just wanted to say thank you! you definitely have advocates in us. We even have a neighbor who has fallen in love with the qualities of Mila (and the breed) and may be interested in bringing one into their family at some point. Thanks again! Anton taking a nap with his new dad after the long drive home to Clovis.
We opened the door of his crate so he can go in and out. He fell asleep in his crate already. I took him outside right after he ate and he went potty outside. He is catching on so fast. I can tell he was very well loved by you and your family and is adapting to ours very quickly SHARYL
Anton sleeping again with his new big sister.
With all the sleep Anton got during the day, he kept his new family up until after 4 a.m! He will get more playtime during the day tomorrow so they get some sleep at night, that's for sure!

Genna ready to go home with Jim & MariBeth
Genna is going to live at the Doce Robles Winery in Paso Robles. She will be an attendant of the tasting room as she grows up. Come visit Genna and Jim & MariBeth at Doce Robles Winery.
An update from Jim and MariBeth: I just wanted to let you know that Genna had her last puppy shots yesterday and got micro chipped. She is so smart, she will fetch, sit and has been house broke completely with no accidents for 3 weeks and she is also leash trained. Her favorite thing to do is play in the water and in the mud. She weighs 34.5 pounds. Ava loves her and thinks that she is her Momma. She is a real joy and fits into our family better than we could have expected. All of our tasters think she is really cute.
Thanks again Maribeth Jacobsen

Finnegan (puppy) in his new home with Ruby
Here are some pictures of Baxter (Huckleberry) and Boomerang (Finnegan) in their new environs. The adult shepherd is our Ruby, who has adopted Huckleberry enthusiastically (after some initial doubts). The little girl is Ravenna, meeting Boomer for the first time. We're having a fine time with Huck on the ranch. He's learning to do his primary job: to keep me exercised with daily hikes. Peggy says to tell you that she's crazy about him.
Cheers, Chris & Peggy
Not quite sure about a puppy?
Ravenna and Finnegan growing up together
Hello Julie, I thought you might like to see how the pups are doing. As you can see, Finnegan and little Ravenna are best buddies. He may have chosen her as the one in the family he likes best. He is really turning into a great family dog and he is much loved. He has a lovely, sweet personality.
Finnegan and Huckleberry
Here is a picture of Chris with his two long hair german shepherd puppies from our 2011 Litter (Finnegan also pictured above). Huckleberry is a delightful dog. He loves other dogs and all people. We, of course, are crazy about him and are enjoying all his antics, well most them. His main goal is to please us. I have never had a dog who loves his toys as much as Huck does. Squeaky toys are his favorites, but anything will do, even things that are not toys. (remember to provide lots of toys for your puppy and teach him what is his by keeping his toys in a box or basket. He will learn to go to his box and pull his toys out) Both these pups are wonderful, affectionate animals.

Finnegan and Huckleberry with their Tutor - RUBY
Ruby has been a great teacher for Finnegan and Huck.
Julie, Here is an Update on the dogs. Here's Huckleberry chasing Caribou. He is a great dog, an absolutely trustworthy with tiny humans and excellent at his job of keeping his elders moving every day. His brother, Finnegin lives with our daughter in LA and is also most satisfactory. The dogs are Ruby, Finnegin (our daughters shepherd) and Huckleberry from left to right. As you can see the dogs and kids are the best of friends.
